Addu City island
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Addu City is a major island in
Addu Seenu atoll, Maldives. In fact, these are several islets connected by bridges. This is a typical "local" island being very uncomfortable - like most of local islands in the Maldives. You can watch the life of locals and to go snorkeling. As for the beach holiday, it's almost nothing like that. Several bikini beaches are very small and with rocky sea bottom. There are also several sandbanks, but views are depressing in most cases. Shore and seabed: stones, sand.

Hotels [edit]
In the hotels of Addu City, rooms' rates range from US$60 to US$300 per night.
Equator Village Resort is the most expensive option. It has a swimming pool and manicured gardens, but still no good beach. It makes no sense to stay here, since for the money it is possible to find upscale private island resorts being perfect in all respects.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Maldives international airport (MLE). Next fly to
Gan international airport (GAN). Domestic flight Male-Gan-Male is US$320 per person.
