Aghir beach
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Aghir is a popular beach resort destination in the south-east of
Djerba island, Tunisia. This is a good beach by the local standards. There are many palms, while sea bottom is sandy with smooth entry into the water. There are also many five-star resorts. Unfortunately, there is a problem of algae most of time, - sometimes even in front of expensive hotels despite their efforts. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
In beachfront hotels of Aghir, rooms' fares start from as low as US$70 per night. However, it makes sense to choose a real upscale resort. Since the service will be much better, - including good cleaning of the beach from algae.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Djerba international airport (DJE). Next get by taxi. It is also possible to get to Djerba island by bus from the mainland. But you should better try to avoid this route.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Djerba island is a warm period from June to October. The rest of the year sea water is very cold, and it is also rainy. As for the winter, it is too cold even for sunbathing.
