Ao Kao beach

Ao Kao is the most popular beach in Koh Mak island of Thailand. During the high tide many palms and trees hang over the water giving good opportunities to make a canonical beach photo. The beach is long and has various segments, which are very different from each other. As elsewhere on the Koh Mak there are no many people. Shore and seabed: sand. [edit]

There are few hotels near the beach of Ao Kao. These are not very cheap, but with good value for money.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Bangkok international airport (BKK). Next get to Trat - by the taxi, or by bus, or by plane. Next take a ferry to the Chang island. Next get to the Bang Bao pier by taxi or take a shuttle minibus (songthaew). Next take a boat to the Koh Mak island.

Hire a tuk-tuk to get to the Ao Kao beach. Or just walk on your own, depending on what pier you'll get to.

The best time for a holiday on the beach of Ao Kao in Koh Mak is a dry season from November to March.
