Athuruga is a private island in the North Ari atoll of the Maldives. Snorkelling on the house reef is good, and a little further in the lagoon there is an excellent diving. The island itself has a nice beach - with palms, white sand and good entry into the water. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Diamonds Athuruga Beach & Water Villas is a 5-star resort with rooms's rates starting from US$800 per night on an "all inclusive" basis with an emphasis into Italian cuisine. The hotel has minor disadvantages due to the specific Italian management, but value for money is good anyway.

Fly to
Male international airport (MLE). Then take 20 minutes flight by a seaplane. The round transfer is US$500 per adult, US$250 per child (2-11 years), infants under 2 years are free of charge.

The best time for a beach holiday on the island of Athuruga is a dry season during the winter half of the year.
