Bagno Vecchio beach
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Bagno Vecchio is a secluded beach to the south of port of
Ponza island, Italy. The place is scenic with clear water, but it's not very comfortable for swimming due to the rocky bottom. So there are no people, nor any amenities. But the historical background is very rich. There was a necropolis in ancient times, but now these are just caves with rock inscriptions of the early Christian period. In addition, it was a quarry in the Middle Ages, where the prisoners worked. And, good advise. It is better not to sunbathe under the steep rocks, else occasional stones may fall on your head. Shore and seabed: stones.
