Hotels [edit]
The only hotels on the island are
Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort (5-stars) and
Pestana Bazaruto Lodge (4-stars with the best beach on the island). Both hotels are of the highest level, expensive, but worth the money.
The newly opened (August 2022)
Zenguelemo Lodge offers a more affordable accommodation option in its castaway tented village, beach bungalows and incredibly it’s own house reef. Authentic Mozambique at its best.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Maputo International Airport (MPM) or fly to
Johannesburg International Airport (JNB). Next fly to
Vilankulo Airport (VNX). In most cases, the flight to Vilankulo via Johannesburg will be cheaper. Next, get to your island on a small private plane or by boat. The hotel will offer you all possible transportation options.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in the islands of Bazaruto is a dry season from April to November. However, sea water may be rather cold during the period from June to October. Therefore, the best monthes are April-May and November.
