Black Sand beach
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Black Sand is a wild beach on the south coast of
Vieques island in Puerto Rico. In fact, there are just occasional patches of black sand. So you can always find the spot with the best color of sand, that you like. Unfortunately, there are just a few trees and palms. But the rocks look epic. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
Blue Horizon Boutique Resort is a great four-star property located to the east of Black Sand beach. In general, this is a nice option, but totally overpriced, - since room is about US$400 per night.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
San Juan airport (SJU). Next get to
Fajardo ferry dock by taxi or by bus. Boats to Vieques island run several times per day.
When to go [edit]
Feel free to visit Vieques island any time of year. There is a small chance of hurricanes in the summer, but sea water is warmer. Winter is considered to be a high season, and there are a lot of people that time.
