Blackpool Sands beach
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Blackpool Sands is a great beach in the south of England featuring a canonical postcard view of the surrounding fields. However, there is no sand, while walking barefoot may be painful. But there is a real black lake (small one) - at least during the rainy periods. The cafe is delicious, but slightly overpriced (that is quite reasonable for such a popular attraction). In general, the place definitely worth a visit. Just don't expect too much. This is not the Caribbean, after all. Shore and seabed: pebbles.

Hotels [edit]
There are few good hotels near the beach with rooms' fares ranging from about US$100 to US$150 per night. That is quite inexpensive by the UK standards. However, the beach is the only notable attraction in the area.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to one of the London's airports:
Heathrow (LHR),
Gatwick (LGW),
Luton (LTN) or
Stansted (STN). Get by bus to the
Dartmouth town (South Devon), and walk about half an hour (or take Uber). Private car parking is £8 for the full day in August, or £3 in other months.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Blackpool Sands is a warm period from July to September.
