Boca de Camarones beach

Boca de Camarones is a beach on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Most tourists come here to visit flamingo lagoon on a canoe tour. However, the tour is not very interesting. The beach itself is quite Ok, but not outstanding. There are many palms ashore, while entry into the water is smooth. Near the beach of Boca de Camarones, there are few guesthouses with rooms' fares ranging from US$20 to US$40 per night. Keep in mind, that the cheapest options are just an ordinary hostels. So it is worth to make a request in advance - to understand what your room will be like.

Fly to Cartagena international airport (CTG) or fly to Barranquilla international airport (BAQ). Next get by bus or take a taxi.

When to go [edit]

Boca de Camarones beach is suitable for a holiday any time of year, since there is no pronounced rainy season, and it is always warm. It is best to surf during the windy period from December to April. As for a pure beach holiday - choose a quiet period from May to November.
