Cabo de la Vela is a popular beach on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. This is a major destination for kite surfing. However, it is also good just to swim here. The water is calm and shallow looking more like a pool. Try to avoid weekends, since there are many buses with tourists arriving this time. Shore and seabed: sand.

Cabo de la Vela has a relatively good choice of budget hotels with rooms' rates starting from US$30 per night. Accommodations are basic. In most cases there is no air conditioning in the room.
