Calangute is the same ugly place as
Baga beach located just to the north. However, Calangute is less crowded, and it is better in this regard. Anyway there are same endless sunbeds, water jets, and crowd of domestic and international tourists. Harassments to lonely women are reported to be usual problem. Unfortunately, this is the new face of Goa, and thigs are getting worse every year. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
In Calangute there is the highest density of hotels all over the Goa. Unfortunately, prices are not becoming cheaper, so you may forget about cozy beachfront bungalows for US$10 per night.
Minimum rooms' fares start at US$20, but there are also a lot of options for US$50-100 and even higher. For those wishing to pay US$400 for a room in such a bad place, it is worth to think about Maldives or
Bora Bora, where you'll get much more for that money.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Goa international airport - Dabolim (GOI). Next hire a taxi (800-1000 rupees) or take a bus.
When to go [edit]
The best time for relaxing on the beach of Calangute in Goa is a dry season from November to April.
