Cape York is the northernmost point of Australia continent. The beaches have all problems of northern Australia: strong tide, crocodiles and marine stingers. There is also problem of trash, bringing by ocean currents. However, clean up sessions are regular. The most popular are
Chilli beach and
Somerset beach. These are looks like a perfect tropical escape. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
Bamaga is a town nearest to the Cape. The choice of accommodation options is limited and these are expensive. Budget travellers should prefer campsites.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Cairns international airport (CNS). Next move about 300 miles to the north.
You may also fly from Cairns to
Bamaga airport or fly to the
airport of Horn Island located just near the Cape.
If you travel by car, try to avoid the road trains. These are very dangerous when riding high speed on a bad road. When you see the road train, drive off the road and stop.
When to go [edit]
The best time to visit Cape York in Australia is a dry season from May to November.
On the other hand the rainy season is also beautiful, as the nature becomes bright and green. However, during the rainy season it's impossible to drive many roads even by 4WD vehicle.
