Caqalai island

Caqalai is a small island in the Lomaiviti group in Fiji. The beach is very good, and the water is perfect both for swimming and snorkeling. At low tide you can walk to the Snake Island with even better snorkeling. Beach and bottom: sand, stones. [edit]

Hotels [edit]

Caqalai Island Resort is a cheap backpackers hotel. Is has dormitory, private rooms and camp sites. However, the cost of staying in the tent is too high.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Nadi International Airport (NAN). Next take a ferry or take a domestic flight to Ovalau island. See here for more details. Next take a boat.

You may also take a boat directly from the main island of Viti Levu to Caqalai. However, we don't recommend it, as the boat is tiny and the distance is long.

When to go [edit]

The best time to travel to Thangalai island is a dry season from May to November.
