Casino dei Turchi beach
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Turchi is the southernmost beach on the Adriatic coast of Apulia, Italy. There are many shallow lagoons with clear water and occasional stony bays, as well as spectacular dunes covered with bushes. So the place is worth a visit. Probably, this is the reason, why there are a lot of people - even in the low season. This is really depressing. Fortunately, there are few areas without sunbeds, where you may stay in relative seclusion. Just walk along the coastline to the left or to the right, and you will find a cozy spot. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
There are some hotels located relatively near the beach (room from US$100 to US$300 per night). By the way, the choice of accommodation options in surrounded towns is much better, but for unclear reasons fares are still the same.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Brindisi airport (BDS) or fly to
Bari airport (BRI). Next get by the local train to
Otranto station, and hire a taxi.
The beach is located 10 km to the north of Otranto. There are many parking lots. But most of these are not near the coast, so you'll have to walk about 500 meters through the nice forest.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Baia dei Turchi is a warm season from July to September.
