Catona beach

Catona is a beach in Calabria located just to the south of the ferry port to Sicily. The coast is beautiful and comfortable - with clear azure water. It is even possible to lay under a palm tree (near the promenade). The only downside is, that the Straits of Messina tend to be cold with strong currents. There are not too many hotels in Catona. In most cases, the room costs from US$40 to US$100, but there are also few much more expensive accommodation options (up to $1000 per night).

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Lamezia Terme international airport (SUF). Next take a train to the station of Reggio Di Calabria Catona and walk to the sea about 5 minutes.

The best time for a beach holiday in Catona is a warm period in the summer half of the year.
