Cayo Vapor island

Cayo Vapor is a tiny island in the north of Los Roques archipelago, Venezuela. There are no trees, and entry into the water is uncomfortable due to the coral bottom. However, the snorkeling on the outer reef is superb, while to the south of the island there is a lagoon with good swimming. The coastal waters are also popular among kitesurfers. Cayo Vapor island has no hotels. The nearest hotels are located nearby - on the central island of Gran Roque.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Caracas international airport (CCS), next fly to Los Roques Airport (LRV). Next hire a boat.

Tours to Cayo Vapor are cheap by Los Roques standards, as it is located not far from the airport. If you want to be the only guest on the island, your hotel can arrange a private tour for some extra money.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday on the island of Cayo Vapor is a dry season from September to May.
