Cefalu is a beautiful old town to the east of Palermo at the
island of Sicily in Italy. The beach is nice but completely packed with holiday makers. Cefalu mountain has a good view to the shore, and this is the only place in town where you can relax from the crowd. Shore and seabed: sand.
[edit]
Hotels [edit]
As the Cefalu is a purely touristic town, almost every building has at least few rooms for rent. The price level is relatively cheap (except for the August).
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Palermo international airport (PMO). Next hire a taxi or take a bus via Palermo. It's about 50 km from Palermo to Cefalu to the east on the freeway. However, the best is to take a cheap "regionale" train along the coast, - the trip takes one hour and costs about 5 euros.
When to go [edit]
The best time to visit the city is spring and autumn. As for a beach holiday, August is perfect, but it's too many people this time.
