Chagar Hutang is a beach in the north of
Redang island, Malaysia. It is also known as
Turtle Beach. You can get here by boat from any hotel of the island. The official name is
Chagar Hutang Turtle Sanctuary. It is managed by the University of Terengganu (UMT). UMT employees provide tours telling a lot of interesting facts about turtles. You can also swim with turtles and make a snorkeling. This is a great experience and definitely worth a visit. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
There are no hotels near Chagar Hutang Beach, while overnight camping is prohibited. However, you still may ask the national park staff about overnight stay options. Especially if you are interested in turtles night watching.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Kuala Lumpur international airport (KUL). Next get by domestic flight to
Kota Terengganu airport (TGG). Then get by taxi to the pier of
Kampung Penarik town, and get by speedboat to Redang island.
Attention! You should always ask your hotel about transfer options, as well as to book boat in advance for exact time and exact pier.
