Crystal Beach
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Crystal Beach is a long beach in the eastern suburbs of Houston, Texas. Like everywhere in the Gulf of Mexico, there are sand dunes almost everywhere, and the water is muddy, shallow and with strong waves most of time. However, this is a very positive place, where you can swim, or at least walk and do fishing. The only bad thing is about notorious cars with loud music, running along the coastline. Shore and seabed: sand.

So in a theory it is possible to spend a night in your own tent and to make BBQ on the open fire. But it is hard to imagine, how rich Texas citizens can stay in a tent for a long time.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Houston international airport (IAH). Get by car via Winnie, or take a shorter route via Galveston (ferry to Bolivar peninsula is cheap, but not frequent).
