Daria is a nice wild beach in the north of Basse Terre island of
Guadeloupe being the very first on the Caribbean coast. There are no palms, but a lot of trees, while tourists usually skip this spot. Snorkeling over the rocks is possible at the sides. Nearby, there is a billboard telling that the first French who arrived into America in 1635 landed here! It is unlikely that this was exactly this beach, but it's exiting anyway. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
There is some residential area not far from the beach. And it seems that some properties are available for renting. But it's not clear, how is it possible to book it online.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Guadeloupe international airport (PTP). Then drive by car to coordinates 16.361158, -61.744265 (avoid the rainy time).
Or it's also possible to walk along the coast from one of the nearest large beaches, - nor matter from the west or from the east. Good walking trails along the coastline are available in all directions.
When to go [edit]
Feel free to relax here any time of year. Even at peak of the hurricane season (August), Daria beach is good most of time. However, the water is usually more clear in winter (but it's more crowded as well).
