Dolly is the best beach in the
Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean. This is the only beach with lots of palm trees and real sand. Unfortunately, the bottom is rocky as everywhere in the island, but it has some pretty shallow pools in rocks. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.
[edit]
Hotels [edit]
Locals like to camp here, as there is a flat area behind the beach, and the fresh water creek flows nearby. Theoretically, tourists may also spend a night in the tent near the beach.
The nearest hotels are located far to the north of the island in the Flying Fish Cove village. In fact this is the only place with hotels in the whole Christmas Island.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Christmas Island Airport (XCH). Next get by a car to the parking of Dolly Beach. Then walk through the jungle for about 45 minutes. Keep in mind that the road back will be much more difficult, as you'll have climb up the hill.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in the Dolly Beach is a dry season from July to November.
