Durres beach

Durres is a major beach resort destination in Albania. The beach is located to the south of port and downtown. There are a lot of high rise buildings. So there is a decent crowd of tourists in August. The beach is full of trash - especially outside private areas. It makes sense to choose a hotel located far to the south. Since it's not overdeveloped there. But anyway, this is a good place with a lot of restaurants. The sea is quite shallow. So it takes some time to reach the depth. Near Durres beach, there is a wide choice of hotels and apartments from US$50 per night. Hotels are not so good like in Italy. But average price tag is cheap. So value for money is fine.

Fly to Tirana international airport (TIA). Next take a taxi or get by bus.

The best time for a beach holiday in Albania is a warm period from June to September.
