Dutchman's Bay beach
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Dutchman's Bay is a quiet beach being closest to the airport of
Antigua island. In fact, it is even possible to walk here from the airport in 20 minutes. Usually the water is muddy with lots of algae. If the weather is good, it can be pretty nice here. But this happens not very often. Good news are that, there are always just a few sunbathers here, as well as few windsurfers. Restaurants are the main attraction of this place. These are good, but expensive. By the way, they are often closed, so it is better to call in advance. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
There are several hotels right near the beach. However, they are almost not presented in the online booking systems. So it makes sense to contact the hotel directly.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Antigua international airport (ANU). Next hire a taxi or walk a little to the north.
When to go [edit]
There is no pronounced rainy season in Antigua. So you can safely come here any time of the year. But you should remember, that Atlantic ocean brings a lot of algae in the summer half of the year. So all eastern beaches are not suitable for use that time. And, yes, Dutchman's Bay is an eastern beach.
