Focene is the airport beach in Rome - with a view of planes landing and taking off. The central coastal area features breakwaters, while the sides are totally undeveloped. The north end of Focene is a beautiful piece of a wild nature, as well as a great kite spot. As for the city beach, it may offer an excellent choice of clubs and bars. Of course, it is heavily crowded during the weekends. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
In Focene, there is a wide choice of hotels with room's rates starting from as low as US$60 per night. However, due to the short distance from the airport, you may not feel quite comfortable here, - especially at the night time.
Please note, that though Focene is located near the runway, passenger terminal is not so close to the city, as one could expect.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to Rome airports of
Fiumicino (FCO) or
Ciampino (CIA). Take a train to the station of
Fiumicino Aeroporto (except for the case, when you've just arrived to Fiumicino airport).
In a theony, you can just walk to the beach of Focene in a less than an hour. But you should understand where to go, as international airports usually have no way for the pedestrians to get in or out.
So the only option is to hire a taxi, which costs 25 euros per way (or even more). Of course, it is overpriced, as the distance is just about 5 km.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Focene is a warm season in the summer half of the year.
