Hotels [edit]
In general, hotels in Fort Lauderdale are much cheaper than in Miami, but with much higher quality.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL). Next take a bus or hire a taxi.
The airport of Fort Lauderdale gets many low cost flights, and in most cases it is the cheapest gate to Florida.
Fort Lauderdale is also the large passenger sea port. Many Caribbean cruises start from here. In addition there is a regular ferry connection with the Bahamas.
When to go [edit]
The best time to travel to the beaches of Fort Lauderdale is a warm season from May to November.
As for the yachting, any time of the year it is warm enough and comfortable. However, in the hurricane season (from June to October), many boats leave the hurricane belt. The best place to wait till the hurricane season ends is
Rio Dulce in Guatemala. It's not far from Florida, and marina fees are very cheap by American standards.
