Fuwairit is a few miles beach in the north of Qatar. The place is known for the turtles that put their eggs here (April-July - the beach is closed that time). South end the beach features a sandspit with beautiful clear water. On the other hand there are rocks in the north of the beach (
Jebel Fuwairit) popular among some athletes. Near the beach there are no restaurants, nor shops, so please bring with you water and food. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
Some distance from Fuwairit beach there are hotels, but these are not presented in the international booking systems. So you'll have to look for a hotel when you arrive, or just visit the beach as a day trip.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Doha international airport (DOH). Keep in mind that the national carrier (Qatar Airways) offers cheap prices for connecting flights, but direct flights to Doha are usually expensive. Please pay attention to regional low-cost airlines that provide cheap prices for direct flights to Qatar:
Air Arabia,
Air India Express,
Cebu Pacific,
FlyDubai and
Pegasus Airlines.
Next drive from Doha to the north about 80 km. Don't leave your car just near the shore, as the car may get stuck in the sand during the high tide!
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Qatar are spring and autumn. In winter sea water is too cold, while summer features sizzling hot with daytime temperatures around 40°C.
