Gaafaru island

Gaafaru is a local island in the north of North Male atoll, Maldives. In fact, this is a separate mini atoll. So it has great boat tours to sandbanks inside the lagoon, as well as ocean fishing. Quite like all local islands, the village is very clean. But there is a lot of trash outside the village. There is a good bikini beach in the north of the island. It is clean and scenic - with free sunbeds, umbrellas and shower. However, there is no toilet or changing rooms. The island has many shops and cheap cafes. So the whole place is cheap. But if one take lagoon tours every day, it will be rather expensive for most of tourists. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

Niru Isle Maldives, Mariana Inn, Sunrise Lagoon, Burulu Inn, Stay Salty, Pavona Maldives, Futtaru Sands and Palm Beach are guesthouses with rooms' fares starting from US$90 per night (including all taxes). Some guesthouses are very expensive. However, there is no sence to pay a lot. Since vacation on the local Maldivian islands is quite the same, - no matter which hotel you choose.

Fly to Maldives international airport (MLE). Next get by the resort's speedboat.

When to go [edit]

You can relax any time of year in the Maldives. But the best is a winter half of the year.
