Gran Roque island

Gran Roque is the main island (with the airport) in Los Roques group. Though most tourists head to the outer islands, Gran Roque is not so bad. The beach has white sand, trees and clear water, but there are too many excursion boats. The west end of the beach has almost no boats, but it's not so beautiful. In addition you can walk to the east of the island (Cayo Fabian) - behind the airport. There are several good secluded beaches. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

In Los Roques almost all the hotels are located in Gran Roque, so in any case you will have to stay here during your journey around the archipelago.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Caracas international airport (CCS), next fly to Los Roques Airport (LRV). The village is located near the airport, so in many cases you will be able just to walk to your hotel.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday on the island of Gran Roque is a dry season from September to May.
