Grotto is a beach in the northeast of Saint Croix island, US Virgin Islands. It is also known as
Buccaneer Beach. Entrance is free via the resort's gate. However, sunbeds are not free, if you are not a hotel guest. There are a lot of picturesque trees and palms, and almost no algae. Entry into the water is mostly rocky. However, there are also occasional patches of sandy bottom. The hotel staff can advise you the best swimming area. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

The Buccaneer Hotel is a four-star property with rooms' rates starting from US$500 per night. This is a relatively good option for the money. Their restaurant is expensive. But portions are very big.

Feel free to relax in Saint Croix island any time of year. Summer half of the year is a low season due to the risk of hurricanes. But the weather is usually very good even during this period.
