Guardalavaca beach

Guardalavaca is a popular beach in the north-east of Cuba. It is located not far from the major town of Holguin. Like Varadero it is a dedicated tourist area with luxury hotels. However, locals are allowed to the beaches of Guardalavaca, so the atmosphere is a little more like the real Cuba. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

Hotels [edit]

There are about a dozen of hotels near the beach, - most functioning on an "all inclusive" basis. The most notable ones are Club Amigo Atlantico and Brisas Resort.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Havana Airport (HAV), or fly to Varadero Airport (VRA), or fly to Holguin Airport (HOG). Next get by taxi or by Viazul bus.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in the northern coast of Cuba is a warm summer half of the year. The winter weather is even better, but sea water is a bit cold.
