Gulhi is a small island with the local population in Maldives,
South Male atoll. Like the neighboring
Maafushi it has cheap guesthouses, as well as bikini beaches. The are two beaches with the most beautiful one suffering from the noise of diesel generator. Everywhere there is a risk of injury from broken glass. A lot of garbage can be found everywhere, though sometimes the locals clean up the coastline. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
Most island hotels have basic room's fare about US$50-60 per nigh. However, it will rise to US$100 after adding all government taxes. In the Maldives, it can't be cheaper anyway.
The best resort is
Tropic Tree Hotel Maldives, but all the hotels in the island are quite the same. New guesthouses are opening every month, and it is likely that Gulhi will soon turn into the second Maafushi.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Male international airport (MLE). Next take a passenger
ferry from Male -
Route 311. Fare is about US$2 per way (or minimum US$40 per person in a speedboat). See also entry for the
Maafushi transportation.
When to go [edit]
The best time to relax on the beaches of the Maldivian island of Gulhi is a dry season in the winter half of the year. The rainy season is also fine, but the sky is cloudy most of time.
