Ha'atafu is a nice beach in the north-west of
Tongatapu island in Tonga. There is a shallow lagoon ashore, suitable for swimming and snorkeling at high tide. In the open sea there is a world-class surfing. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Holty's Hideaway Ha'atafu is the best hotel in the whole of Tongatapu island. Of course it's rather expensive with room starting from US$300 per night.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Tonga International Airport (TBU). Next hire a taxi or take a bus. The bus ride from Nukuʻalofa to Ha'atafu is about US$1 per way.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Haatafu is a dry cool season from May to October. You may also often see whales right from the shore in the period from June to November.
