Haad Khom is a small beach in the north of
Pangan island, Thailand. This is one of the best beaches of the island, but still not quite perfect. There are many trees and palms, entry into the water is smooth, while sea water is almost clear. There are just a few people, since the road to the beach is bad. Unfortunately, coastline becomes too narrow during the high tide. On the other hand, you have to walk a lot to the depth - during the low tide. However, if compare with other Phangan beaches, these problems are not critical. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
There are several hotels near Haad Khom beach. However, these are almost not presented in the online reservation systems. The best is just to visit the beach asking for the room directly to the hotel. In fact, many options are not so good, as one might expect.
How to get there [edit]
You may get from Bangkok to Phangan island by
Lomprayah high-speed catamaran. But the best is to fly to Samui island, and next get by ferry from Maenam beach to Phangan island.
There are two options to fly from Bangkok to Samui:
1. Direct flight to
Samui Airport (USM). This way is most convenient, but also the most expensive.
2. Fly to
Surat Thani airport (URT) by
AirAsia low-coster. Then get by taxi (1200 bahts) to
Donsak Pier. Then get to Samui by any ferry (
Raja ferry is the best, but other services are also good). It is
the best value for money way of getting to Koh Samui, but takes a little longer time, as the road from Suratthani airport to Samui takes a few hours.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Pha-ngan island is a dry season from January to April, as well as second dry season from June to September.
