Haad Yuan is a beach in the southeast of Phangan island in Thailand. This is one of the best beaches on the island. It's beautiful with comfortable swimming. Unfortunately, the sand is coarse, but still nice enough. It is possible to get here from Haad Rin beach in an hour - just walking along hiking trail through the hills. Don't miss viewpoint with scenic view of the beach. You can return back by boat for 300 bahts per person. Usually, the beach is not crowded - except for those rare days with Full Moon parties. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
Bigblue Bungalow HaadYuan and
Hideaway Pariya Haad Yuan are beachfront hotels with rooms' fares ranging from US$30 to US$120 per night. So, this is a great place for a long stay. These options are also good enough to stay relatively close to the popular Full Moon Beach. The hotels are not quite perfect. So it is worth to read the reviews - to understand how critical all their problems are for you.
How to get there [edit]
You may get from Bangkok to Phangan island by
Lomprayah high-speed catamaran. But the best is to fly to Samui island, and next get by ferry from Maenam beach to Phangan island.
There are two options to fly from Bangkok to Samui:
1. Direct flight to
Samui Airport (USM). This way is most convenient, but also the most expensive.
2. Fly to
Surat Thani airport (URT) by
AirAsia low-coster. Then get by taxi (1200 bahts) to
Donsak Pier. Then get to Samui by any ferry (
Raja ferry is the best, but other services are also good). It is
the best value for money way of getting to Koh Samui, but takes a little longer time, as the road from Suratthani airport to Samui takes a few hours.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Pha-ngan island is a dry season from January to April, as well as second dry season from June to September.
