Haukland beach
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Haukland is one of the best beaches in the
Lofoten islands, Norway. White sand looks fantastic, while the surrounding hills have many trails with spectacular views. Despite the location beyond the Arctic Circle, shallow water warms up in August to a relatively comfortable 20°C. A much bigger problem is the air temperature being about 15°C this time. So entry into the water is hard - unlike the swimming itself. Obviously, this destination is not for everybody. But anyway, this is an amazing experience! Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
There are no hotels right near the beach, but you can spend the night in your own tent. However, there are many accommodation options around with rooms' rates being about US$150 per night. It's not cheap. But this is Norway, and the place is very popular.
But if you are ready for camping, you'll get free parking, as well as a free toilet and hot shower (quite like almost everywhere else in Norway).
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Oslo international airport (OSL), next fly to
Narvik Airport (EVE). It is best to rent a car to explore Lofoten islands.
