Hin Kong is a beach in the west of Phangan island, Thailand. This place is notable for its sandbank extending into the ocean. Unfortunately, there is a problem of strong low tides. The water goes so far, that it's almost impossible to reach the depth. As for the high tide, it's not so bad. There are many palms, sea water is clear, and you can have a nice walk along the sandbank. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
In Hin Kong hotels, rooms' fares start from as low as US$50 per night. This is a great budget destination. However, it is still better to take a hotel with a pool.
How to get there [edit]
You may get from Bangkok to Phangan island by
Lomprayah high-speed catamaran. But the best is to fly to Samui island, and next get by ferry from Maenam beach to Phangan island.
There are two options to fly from Bangkok to Samui:
1. Direct flight to
Samui Airport (USM). This way is most convenient, but also the most expensive.
2. Fly to
Surat Thani airport (URT) by
AirAsia low-coster. Then get by taxi (1200 bahts) to
Donsak Pier. Then get to Samui by any ferry (
Raja ferry is the best, but other services are also good). It is
the best value for money way of getting to Koh Samui, but takes a little longer time, as the road from Suratthani airport to Samui takes a few hours.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Pha-ngan island is a dry season from January to April, as well as second dry season from June to September.
