Hongfu beach

Hongfu is a beach in the north-east of Hainan island, China. West end of the coastline is an open bay with strong waves and not overdeveloped (as for now). So the swimming is not very comfortable here. But this place is great for walking along the ocean with beautiful views of palms. But in the east, sea bottom is mostly rocky with occasional sandy patches with calm water, as well as there is Hilton resort located nearby. Hotels [edit]

There are two hotels in the east end of Hongfu Beach: Hilton Wenchang with rooms' rates starting from US$100 per night, and Holiday Inn Express Wenchang an IHG Hotel - from US$70. The service is not quite perfect. But still these are great options for the money.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Sanya international airport (SYX). Then hire a taxi. Or you may also fly to Haikou international airport (HAK). But it is located in the north of the island - far from most tourist attractions. You can move around the island by buses. But it can be hard to understand how local transport is operating.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in the south-west of China is April and October-November. The main problem is that the summer is a rainy season (from May to September), while it is too cold in winter (from December to March).
