Hulhumale is an inhabited island in the Maldives (
North Male atoll). This place is perfect to spend night before or after a flight, as international airport is located right here. Main beach is rather mediocre, so we don't recommend to stay here for a long time. Views are beautiful, but there are few downsides. First, women are forbidden to sunbathe and swim in a bikini (though pareo is Ok). Second, the water is shallow with stones. Beach: sand. Seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
The cheapest hotels in the Maldives are located here. Rooms are pretty basic, but there are also options tended to some luxury. However, you should understand, that secluded outer islands have also a lot of cheap guesthouses.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Male international airport (MLE). Next hire a taxi (10$) or take a bus. Bus service is cheap and runs few times per hour, but you need some local money to pay for it.
There is cheap and frequent ferry service between Hulhumale and Male islands. Two main piers are located in the airport and in the west coast of the island in a residential area.
There is also a bridge between Male and Hulhumale. Now it's under construction. But when you get to Maldives, most likely that it will be done.
When to go [edit]
You may have great holiday in Hulhumale any time of year. But the best time is a dry season from January to April.
