Isla Contoy island

Isla Contoy is an uninhabited island to the north of Cancun, Mexico. The west coast is mostly made of a paradise tropical beach - with palms, without strong waves and without algae. There is also great snorkeling on the island, while there are many birds and iguanas ashore. The place never becomes overcrowded, since only maximum of 200 tourists per day can visit this heavenly spot. The only drawback is that there are always a lot of mosquitoes here. How to get there [edit]

Fly to Cancun airport. Then take a bus or hire a taxi to get to your hotel in Cancun. The hotel will advise you the best boat day trips to Isla Contoy, that are available at the moment.

Tour to Contoy island is about US$100-150 per person. Plus US$10, you'll have to pay in cash on the island itself. The shortest boat ride is from Isla Mujeres, while the longest journey is from the southern beaches of Cancun.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a holiday on the beaches of Yucatan Peninsula is a dry season from November to April. However, the summer half of the year is also good enough, since there are no crowds of tourists, and the sea water is warmer.
