Isla Grande beach

Isla Grande is an islet near the village of La Guaira in Panama. The only beach is located in the west of island and belongs to Hotel Isla Grande. Entrance for hotel non-guests is about US$10 per person. Coastline is a perfect tropical paradise - with picturesque palms, nice shallow water without waves or algae. Unfortunately, there is a lot of trash everywhere. While there is nothing to do outside the main beach. However, this is one of the best beaches in Panama. Hotels [edit]

Hotel Isla Grande is the only beachfront resort on the island. In fact, its beach is the only one with good swimming. There are also many guesthouses and pseudo-resorts in the village and further away to the east. There is no beach there to speak of, while price tag is sometimes very expensive (rooms range from US$50 to US$1000 per night). It seems, they believe that their island as some kind of panamanian Bora Bora.

Fly to the major Panama international airport (PTY, Tocumen) or fly to secondary Panama international airport (BLB, Balboa). Next take a taxi or get by bus.

It is always rainy season on the Caribbean coast of Panama. However, relatively dry seasons are January, March and October.
