Maafushi island

Maafushi is a budget island in Maldives, South Male atoll. Kaani beach is the main spot, where bikinis are allowed. There's also another good beach called White Shell nearby. Many years ago it was the first local island, which opened extremely cheap hotels. Beach and seabed: sand, coral chips. [edit]

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Male International Airport (MLE). Then get to Male island. Next take a ferry to Maafushi - about 1.5 hours per way. More details - see here.

The best time for a holiday in the island of Maafushi is a dry period from January to April.

Useful information [edit]

We recommend to pay attention to more secluded Fulhadhoo island, as it's much better than Maafushi. There are also two other local islands just nearby - Gulhi to the north and Guraidhoo to the south.
