Keawakapu is a great beach on the island of
Maui. This is Hawaii we dream of, - with palms, white sand and good waves. There is also good snorkeling in the north and in the south of the coast. Strange, but not everyone knows this place, so it never becomes too crowdy. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
Most of the hotels in Keawakapu are located in the northern part of the beach, including that ugly skyscraper that developers managed to build at this bohemian place. Room's rates start at $400 per night.
Unfortunately, most of that cozy villas located along the coast are not for rental, or not presented in the international booking systems. By the way, these villas cost more than 10 millions dollars, and it is hard to imagine what the rental fares could be.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Honolulu international airport (HNL), next fly to
Maui island airport (Kahului, OGG). There are also direct flights to Maui airport from USA and Canada, - sometimes these are very cheap. Next hire a taxi or take a bus number 10 to the stop
Kilohana Drive southbound.
If you prefer a rental car, there are three parking areas - in the north, central and south end of this long beach. So anyway you will find a parking with free space.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a holiday on Keawakapu beach in Maui island is a warm season from June to October, as this is the only time when sea water is warmed up to a comfortable temperature.
But most tourists travel to Hawaii in the winter half of the year, when waves are so strong, that it is better to surf, but not to swim.
