Kite Lagoon beach

Kite Lagoon is a surfer beach on the Atlantic coast of Brazil. It is also known as Praia da Barra do Ceará. This place is somewhat unique, since this is a real lagoon. So no waves, while the wind is always strong. As for the swimming, this is not the best spot due to shallow water in the lagoon, - especially during the low tide. However, it is still possible to walk to the depth. Since there are neither strong currents, nor an open ocean. So you can walk safely for a long time. Of course, it is not worth to visit this lagoon just for swimming. But the swimming is possible anyway. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

In the hotels of Praia da Barra beach, rooms' fares starts from US$60 per night. Moreover, decent pool hotels can be found just for US$80. If you are on a limited budget, it is worth to think about Itarema town located at some distance from the ocean. It may offer rooms from US$30 per night. Of course, you'll have to walk to the beach for about half an hour. But if you are in a good condition, it is not a problem at all.

Fly to Jericoacoara airport (JJD) or fly to Fortaleza International Airport (FOR). Next get by bus or hire a taxi.
