Klong Chao is the most popular beach in the west of
Koh Kood island of Thailand. Tropical scenery with palms, as well as well-known hotels attract many package tourists. It is also the best place in the island for the sunset. Sandspit looks great from the air, and it's for those who like to swim in a shallow water. Shore and seabed: sand.

These is an exellent choice of hotels near the beach, including few cheap options not far from the shore (5-10 minutes of walking). As for the beachfront properties, the most notable are (from north to south):
Away Resort has bad location, as it's separated from the main beach area. The hotel has it's own tiny beach.
Peter Pan Resort is the oldest brand in Koh-Kood. It is famous for its magic name, as well as for the best beach area in Klong Chao.
High Season is a luxury beach resort featuring huge pool. In addition each bungalow has its own pool. And after all the beach itself is very good.
Tinkerbell Resort is another world-class property. Every beachfront bungalow has its own beach facing the ocean.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Bangkok international airport (BKK). Next get to
Trat - by the taxi, or by bus, or by plane. Next take a ferry to the Koh-Kut island. There are direct ferry services from Trat, as well as connecting routes via Ko-Chang and/or Koh-Mak.
Hin Dam Pier (aka
Saphan Nam Leuk Pier) located not far from the beach. You may just walk to Klong Chao or hire a taxi.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Klong Chao of Koh-Kood is a dry season from November to March.
