Lido di Latina is a beach with dark sand to the south of Rome. It is also known as
Lido di Capo Portiere. This is a place for a quiet and relaxing holiday - without crowds and loud music. In the west end, there are small settlements with few private beaches, while the east coast is wild with dunes hiding the marshy lake of
Lago di Fogliano. The sea is clean and shallow, which is more suitable to children. Shore and seabed: sand, pebbles.

Hotels [edit]
In Lido di Latina, the two main beachfront resorts are
Hotel Miramare Latina (from US$150) and
Il Fogliano (from US$240). These are upscale properties with good value for money.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to Rome airports of
Fiumicino (FCO) or
Ciampino (CIA). Get by train to the station of
Latina, and next hire a taxi for about 12 km, - that is rather long distance.
In general, you need a car to relax in Latino, as the public transportation is undeveloped, while frequent taxi rides will cost you a lot of money.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Lido di Latina is a warm season in the summer half of the year.
