Macaneta beach

Macaneta is a popular beach in the north of Maputo, Mozambique. This is a scenic wild coast with sand dunes - with the exception of few beachfront resorts giving for non-guests access to their amenities for a small fee. The ocean is usually choppy with dangerous currents. So it is better to swim where other persons swim the same time. By the way, you should also avoid secluded stretches of the coastline because of the crime, that is a true reality here. Shore and seabed: sand. [edit]

Fly to Maputo international airport (MPM). Next get by taxi for about 30 minutes.

The best time for a holiday on Macaneta beach is a warm period from December to April, when sea water is the most comfortable.
