Mahai'ula beach
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Mahai'ula is a beach in the west of Big Island Hawaii (near Kona Airport). It is also known as
Kekaha Kai. This is a beautiful spot. The swimming is also good, even though sea bottom is mostly rocky. If there are no strong waves, the snorkeling is possible as well. Unfortunately, you won't be able to watch the sunset. Because the National Park is closed after 6:30 pm, while the entrance is located far away. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
To the north of Mahaiula Beach (not within a walking distance), there is
Four Seasons Resort Hualalai with rooms' fares starting from US$2500 per night. Needless to say, this is a great hotel. But, unfortunately, it is rather expensive.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Honolulu international airport (HNL). Next fly to
Kona international airport (KOA) or fly to
Hilo airport (ITO).
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in the Big Island of Hawaii is a period from July to October. Since sea water is warm enough that time.
