Male island

Male is the capital island of Maldives, North Male atoll. There are not too many attractions, but good public beach is available (Male artificial beach). It is very scenic and comfortable. Please keep in mind, that women are not allowed to appear on the beach in a bikini, but with pareo - it will be Ok. Shore and seabed: sand. [edit]

There are lots of hotels in Male to suit every budget. Keep in mind that there are no real beach hotels here. Or you may choose Hulhumale, which is a new metropolitan district on the neighboring island. It is also promoted as a beach destination.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Maldives to Male International Airport (MLE). Next get by Hulhule-Male ferry and walk to the beach for about 10 minutes.

The best time for a holiday in Male is a dry period in the winter half of the year.
