Mangrove Cay beach
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Mangrove Cay is a beach in the center of Andros Island, Bahamas. This is a pure ocean fishing spot. Though beach holiday is also possible. However, occasioanl algae, as well as problem of strong low tides are the real problem. But anyway it's not so bad. There is also good snorkeling on the house reef and in the blue hole in the south of the beach - near the
Bastian Point Settlement. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
Swains Cay Lodge,
Seascape Inn and
Androsian Pine Bay Resort are guesthouses with rooms' rates starting from US$250 per night. It is better to read reviews and not to pay attention to amount of stars. Since these don't mean anything here.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Nassau international airport (NAS). Next make a domestic flight to
San Andros airport (SAQ) or fly to
Andros Town airport (ASD).
When to go [edit]
The best time to travel to Andros island is a dry season in the winter half of the year. However, the summer is also good. Since sea water is much warmer, and there are no crowds of tourists.
