Marumbi beach
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Marumbi is a beach in the west of Chwaka Bay of
Zanzibar island, Tanzania. The scenery is pretty nice, though not the best on the island. But swimming is a real problem. During the low tide, you need to walk for a long time to the depth. But during the high tide, the water is muddy and still shallow. So you always need to roam along the coastline looking for a place being relatively suitable for swimming. In most cases, it is easier just to swim in the pool. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Rooms' fares in the hotels of Marumbi range from US$70 to US$300 per night. This is quite expensive for such a mediocre spot.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Zanzibar international airport (ZNZ). Next hire a taxi.
At the current time, there are many direct flights to Zanzibar. So connections flight via Dar es Salaam makes sense only in case, if you plan a safari on the mainland.
